The Socialist Party of Nigeria(SPN) spokesman, Segun Sango on behalf of the group on in a Statement on the clash between the Shi'ite Islamic group and the Nigerian Army had these to say.
Segun has advised that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Turkur Buratai should resign, as the Army under his leadership is anti-democratic. This is as a result of the Killings in Zaria which resulted to the loss of the group’s leader, Ibraheem Zakzaky, three sons and many other members of the Shi'ite Islamic group.
The Spokesman also condemned the actions of the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai for prohibiting protests and procession of any sort in the state.
He further urged the entire trade union movement to begin a protest against the killings in Zaria and against the Chief of Army Staff for spearheading anti-democratic crisis in the Country.
