The Gunners have tabled a £5millon deal with Swiss club Basel for El Nenny as Arsene Wenger looks to reinforce his team after going top of the English Premier League.
The Arsenal manager, Wenger has been blasted severally for not buying an outfield player, a wing which the 23-year-old Egyptian forward fits-in perfectly.
As a result of injury worries in the team, it was clear the Gunners needed to make signings in January.
El Nenny who has over 40caps for his country plays deep in the midfield, which is exactly what the Gunners are missing as a result of injury to Francis Coquelin who is out till late January.
