7 Boko Haram suspects arrested

A statement from the Nigerian Army revealed that another havoc to be perpetuated by the Islamic extremists was prevented on Sunday, December 27 in Kaduna as 7 members of the Boko Haram activists were nabbed and arrested by the Nigerian Army.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman Acting Director Army Public Relations on behalf of the Nigerian Army revealed,

These men were insurgents meant to commit suicide bombings, killing and maiming of innocent citizens around Kaduna during the x-mas celebration. The insurgents were found with terrorist bombs and improvised explosive making Devices(IEDs). The insurgents were found out following a painstaking surveillance and proactive intelligence operations over a period of time.

Remember that before now in Maiduguri,  Some IEDs were found by the Nigerian Army.

Meanwhile, it was also said that the arrest of these suspects would no doubt assist in the fight against terrorism in the country, more so as the military have technically defeated the Boko Haram terrorists in the field, the terrorists have resorted to attacking soft targets through suicide bombings, IEDs and harassing attacks on isolated communities.

However, the Nigerian Army  has also urged the public to keep being on the look out for these and avoid being used by the Boko Haram instead should report any suspected activist to the Security agents.
