Train derails with gallons of acid on board

A 2-kilometer (1.2-mile) exclusion zone was put in place by the Australian Government around Northern Queensland and has remained in effect since Monday following the derail of a train which was carrying roughly 200,000 liters (53,000 gallons) of the highly corrosive acid when it went off the tracks on Sunday morning in a remote area of Northern Queensland.

The train's locomotive ended up on its side, and all 26 freight cars it was pulling derailed, according to authorities.

According to the Police, three men who were known to have been aboard the train were left with minor injuries.

The cause of the derailment is still unknown.
