Police IG claim on number of Officers lost to Insurgency

"Based on the figure I have in my disposal, we have 90,000 widows. So invariably, that can be translated to mean that we have lost about 90,000 officers and men since the commencement of the insurgency four years ago,” these were the words of the Inspector General, Solomon Arase, of Police on November 11.

These words shocked politicians and commentators as it was repeated boldly by the IG. APC representative for Kwara, Ali patigi after hearing this said:

“I will urge that this matter to be thoroughly investigated because losing 90,000 policemen is no mean misfortune for a society".

Really? Have we lost these numbers?
If this is true, this should be looked into.
