Alleged Boko Haram Suspect released

On November 18, the Nigerian Army announced the arrest of Mr. Sadiq, a security guard at the residence of Mohammed Daggash in the Borno State capital, saying he was suspect number 28 on its wanted Boko Haram terrorists lists.

On Friday December 18, a month after his arrest and probably torture,  the Army through thorough investigation and the release of a recent video by the Boko haram activists have termed their arrest of Sadiq as a case of "Mistaken Identity".

Mr Sadiq has now be returned to his family and Daggash family name cleared
of any security offence.

It's good to know that an innocent man has been set free, but it's unfortunate to know that he was set free unapologetically by the Army who kept him away from his family for an entire month and paraded him as a terrorist. I think the Nigerian Army can do better in handling civilians. This is an era of democracy.

Not being an ungrateful Nigerian, I still  appreciate the Nigerian Army on their efforts to defeat insurgency in the country.
