Popular actor Robert Downey Jr also known as "Iron man " a comic hero received pardon today following
a1996 crime for possession of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle with a prior conviction and driving under the influence and use of a controlled substance from the California Governor of, Jerry Brown.
This pardon is due to a tradition carried out by the office of the Governor annually on the eve of Christmas. These Criminals are usually those who served their time and have avoided further criminal record.
People convicted of a crime in California may apply to the governor for a pardon. Applicants must receive a court order declaring he or she is rehabilitated and show they have lived "productive and law-abiding lives following their conviction," according to the governor's office.
Brown also stated that they do not get the Pardon except they are worth of it.
