At the African Investment Forum held in Westminster, London insults were exchanged between Nigeria's former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and the current president of Ghana, John Mahama.
In attendance to the forum were, African heads of states including like Malawian president, Matata Ponyo Mapon, the prime minister Democratic Republic of Congo, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia, H.E. Thomas Boni Yayi of the Republic of Benin, H. E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Republic of Uganda and H.E. Charles Gaëtan Xavier-Luc Duval, deputy Prime-Minister Republic of Mauritius among others.
These two, Olusegun and Mahama were at the brink of the quarrel when the Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni intervened.
Obasanjo had openly accused the Ghanaian President and his government of financially contributing $12m to Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign and blackmailing and collecting bribes from Nigerian businessmen in Ghana, To respond to the accusation, Mahama called Obasanjo "An idiot " and "a stupid buffoon"
