The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani over the phone spoke to President Muhammadu Buhari, over the Zaire clash which led to the death of hundreds of Shiite members.
He has urged that the President to resolve the dispute and intervene to avoid its escalation into something worse. He also urged that the victims be compensated and injured taken care of.
He added that the Islamic religion is at a point where it requires peace and peaceful resolution to its existing problems.
The president further declared that the Iranian Government is willing to dispatch medical teams to tend to the injured in the crisis.
While, President Buhari on his part appreciated the efforts of President Hassan and expressed,
"We will also do our best to restore security in our country and will act against those who have disturbed it.” said President Buhari.
