Bayelsa elections

Five have been reported dead in southern Ijaw area of Bayelsa following a series of gunshots that occurred yesterday in several parts of the state. Also, violence has occurred in Okpo-ama and Eweama communities in the Bras Local Government Area of the State.

The ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, has implored the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to find a lasting solution to the many complaints of card readers.
He said,

"About five people who came with me including my mother, my elder sister and a former commissioner in Bayelsa State were rejected. These are known people, they cannot go and carry a fake or cloned card, yet the card reader rejected them for accreditation,”
He has also appealed to the people of Bayelsa to allow for a peaceful election.
